Txokos are
an old tradition that express the love the Basque have for food. In
every corner of the Basque Country you can find Basque gastronomic
societies, called txokos. These are men only dining clubs where members
gather to play cards, sing, share conversation, & kitchen wisdom, as
they have done for centuries. Though traditionally for men only,
today many people have txokos at home or in a place they share with
friends and relatives, both men and women.
Here in Chino we have created our own txoko. We gather periodically and
spend the evening cooking, drinking, and eating. All are welcome,
